Positive Review: I'm 65 years old, and I love this game. I've stomped the hills for deer and elk a lot in my lifetime, and though I don't get out much anymore, this game is a great substitute. You can play it without being a hunter, but you won't score well. You can kill the animals without much hunting skill, but to get silver and gold medals, you have to be patient and hunt just like you do in the wild, with stalking skills and knowing when to take the shot. I like the fact that if you're unhappy with your score on a hunt, you can replay the hunt as many times you want to improve your score. The Top Shot gun works very well with the Wii remote and nunchuck; the Z button on the nunchuck serves as the trigger and is very realistic. I highly recommend this game if you're a hunter.

Positive Review: Hunting is not my thing. My daughter and husband , on the other hand, hunt regularly and they really enjoyed this game. It came with everything necessary to put the game in and begin play. My husband was laughing and playing like he was a little kid--it was cute. My daughter thought it was very challenging and had some minor frustration with it, but that is a good thing because it means it wont be "old news" any time soon.

Negative Review: We own quite a few Game Cube games and now Wii games, and I've NEVER been as disappointed in a game as I have been with this one!
Referring to this as "hunting simulation" is just laughable.

First let me say that I have played the Game Cube version of Big Game Hunter, and as bad as I thought that one was---this one is infinitely worse!
All of the calls, scents, decoys, etc., are gone from the Wii version. As cheesy as some of that stuff was they were fun to use and made the game more interesting.
In addition it was much easier to navigate the terrain, and there were far fewer walls in the Game Cube version.

There are hundreds of free hunting games on the Internet and most of the better challenging games will also provide you with anywhere from 20 minutes to 1 hour free demo. Of course they are hoping you get hooked and purchase the full addition on most games for around $20.
